This is a brother MFC 7860DW printer. There’s very similar printers that that are out there for example 7460DN printer.
What we’re gonna do is I’m gonna just show you how to reset parts on it, such as fuser if your fuser is still doing fine and it says that you needs to replace it you can just reset it or if you have also put in a new one you also need to reset it to 100% life.
How to Reset Fuser on Brother MFC 7860 DW
So how you do that you open the front cover here, very similar to a previous video where I show how to reset the get it to factory settings. I’ll put it on the link below, but it’s pretty much the same process you open the front cover, then you’re gonna hit menu.
Menu start to eight six four and we’re gonna do it in a sequence without much pauses. So here we go menu, star, two eight six four, I’m gonna try that again try doing that after hitting the Clear button menu start two eight six four here we go.
So now it went through, we’re gonna close the front cover. So now it says maintenance on the screen, that’s what we need on here we’re gonna just scroll down you can scroll down or you can just put it in maintenance ninety nine basically if you press ok is just gonna set a reset it to factory settings but it does not reset part’s life.
We need to go down to 88. Press OK, and then we’re gonna select the part that we need to reset. So all these parts, I usually what I do is just when I replace the fuser or if I see that it’s still in good condition I would just reset it.
Just if you want to reset laser you press OK, then scroll down to the PF kit press OK, so yeah that one we have done so there’s five parts on this printer, that we can reset we cannot reset the page count so that’s something that if I’m selling a printer or somebody else is selling a printer even if all the parts are reset.
You would know that like if there’s 50,000 pages printed on it, it would be good to know if the diffusor is actually new on there or if still has 50% life. I’m actually not sure if it’s 50,000 on this printer or a hundred thousand, I think it’s a hundred thousand so these printers they last a very long time.
After you’ve done that just go ahead and go back, go to the stop exit and then turn the printer off. And on again, and then your part should be reset you shouldn’t have any issues printing more pages.
