A forecourt to the Gardens from His Majesty’s Theatre, St Mark’s church and the Library, this plaza is at the intersection of Rosemount Viaduct and Union Terrace. It is intended that the road spur between this island of landscape and the rest of Gardens be closed, providing a double benefit: expanding the contiguous space of the Gardens and reducing the speed of adjacent roadways to increase pedestrian safety.
